HDPE geomembrane built to GRI-GM13
SIGMA HDPE geomembrane is a smooth high density polyethylene liner produced to the GRI-GM13 specification. Each roll is extruded from virgin polyethylene resin compounded with carbon black, antioxidants and UV stabilizers, so the finished HDPE membrane is impermeable, UV-resistant and built for a long service life. Compared with concrete or compacted clay, this high density polyethylene geomembrane is more cost-effective, safer and far faster to deploy on site.
Why buyers choose this HDPE liner
Good physical and mechanical performance, high tear resistance and strong deformation adaptability let the liner conform to irregular subgrades without failing. It resists corrosion, ageing and a wide temperature range, and is non-toxic for aquaculture and potable water. With a complete range of widths and thicknesses, this HDPE geomembrane liner stays low cost and easy to install — hot-wedge welded into a continuous watertight barrier in the field.
Thickness range and where it is used
We supply the geomembrane sheet from 0.75 mm (30 mil) up to 3.0 mm (120 mil), with a 1.25 mm (50 mil) grade available on request. Thinner 30 mil and 40 mil HDPE liner suits decorative ponds and HDPE lining for water tank work; 60 mil and 80 mil HDPE geomembrane is the workhorse for landfill liner, dam liner and secondary containment; 1.5 mm and 2 mm HDPE liner handles aggressive containment and heavy hydraulic head. As an HDPE pond liner it is widely used for fish pond, farm pond, canal lining, wastewater lagoons and water treatment systems. See the full HDPE geomembrane range for other grades and surfaces.
Installation and welding
Rolls are unrolled over a prepared, compacted subgrade and joined into one continuous, watertight barrier by hot-wedge (dual-track) welding, with extrusion welding used around pipes, corners and other details. HDPE liner welding seams are then air-pressure or vacuum tested before backfilling, and anchor trenches secure the perimeter. Because the high density polyethylene liner has strong deformation adaptability, it conforms to slopes and irregular ground without splitting, which keeps installation fast and the finished lining reliably anti-seepage.
Applications beyond ponds
Beyond pond and reservoir lining, this HDPE geomembrane is specified for solid waste landfill liner and capping, tailings and sewage dams, canal and channel lining, and the anti-seepage lining of tunnels, subways and basements. It is also used for dike and dam foundation seepage prevention, cofferdam construction, roadbed saline-seepage control and roofing waterproofing. The same impermeable HDPE liner serves as HDPE lining for RC tank and water tank projects and across water treatment systems, giving engineers one durable barrier material for very different sites.
Manufacturer supply and pricing
As an HDPE geomembrane manufacturer and supplier we sell direct from the factory, so you deal with the people who extrude the liner rather than a trader. HDPE geomembrane sheet price tracks thickness, roll width and order volume; tell us the grade (for example 60 mil or 2 mm), total area and destination port and we return an ex-works quote quickly. Wholesale HDPE liner volumes ship in welded rolls suited to sea freight, and we can advise thickness selection so you are not over-specifying. For pond-specific guidance see our HDPE pond liner page.
