An HDPE pond liner is an impermeable high density polyethylene pond liner that keeps water in and contaminants out. SIGMA manufactures the polyethylene pond liner from virgin HDPE resin to GRI-GM13, so your fish pond, farm pond or water reservoir holds water reliably for decades without seepage.
For decorative and small fish ponds a 0.75–1.0 mm (30–40 mil) HDPE pond liner is usually enough; larger farm ponds, irrigation reservoirs and aquaculture tanks step up to 1.0–1.5 mm (40–60 mil) high density polyethylene pond liner for extra puncture resistance. Where livestock, rock or heavy hydraulic head are involved, a 2 mm HDPE liner gives the longest service life.
Unlike compacted clay or concrete, a high density polyethylene pond liner is impermeable, UV-stable and non-toxic, so it is safe as an HDPE fish pond liner and for potable reservoirs. It is hot-wedge welded into one continuous sheet, deploys fast, and resists corrosion, ageing and chemicals — a low-cost, long-life alternative to micron-rated reinforced pond liners.
This pond liner is our HDPE geomembrane supplied to GRI-GM13 — see the full property table and thickness range on the product page.
Geomembrane Smooth HDPE geomembrane liner to GRI-GM13 — an impermeable high density polyethylene pond liner for landfill, water and containment, 0.75–3.0 mm.
Most fish ponds use a 0.75–1.0 mm (30–40 mil) HDPE pond liner; stock ponds and farm ponds with rocky subgrades move up to 1.0–1.5 mm. The liner is non-toxic virgin polyethylene, so it is safe for fish and aquaculture.
HDPE pond liner price tracks thickness, roll width and area. As the manufacturer we quote ex-works per square metre; send your pond dimensions and we will return a price the same business day.
Yes. The liner contains 2–3% carbon black plus UV stabilizers and is tested for UV resistance (HP-OIT retained 50% after 1600 hr per ASTM D7238/D5885), so it can be left exposed in open ponds and reservoirs.
